About Us

We are alumni of Collective Advocacy Training, which was held in Bangkok on 5th-9th May 2014 with the cooperation of UNDP and The Inclusive Security. The training was aimed to strengthen knowledge and skill among women activist working on peacebuilding and women's Rights related issues. Attended by 30 women from Nepal, Myanmar and Indonesia, the training provided strong knowledge on collective advocacy that contains of basic knowledge and skill on problem analysis using the iceberg tool and problem tree, solution mapping as well as technical how to advocate the issues. The most important part of the training was about preparation of advocacy, which might not be paid attention a lot during a real work on doing advocacy. Therefore, the collective advocacy training held by UNDP provided practical skills on framing message, recommendations, and skill to lobby decision makers. 

There were five women activist from Indonesia joining with the training, they are (from left to right on the picture)

  5. Yovita Un, Head of Sub Division of Data and Statistic in Regional, Development Planning Agency of Belu District
  6. Elvida, Head of Study Center of Women in Flower Aceh

We agreed to start our collective advocacy on women's political participation in all level of decision making by compiling women's stories who has been playing role as decision makers. The reason to have strong stories from women decision makers is to learn the impact of having women in decision making process to the live of people, specifically to women and children. From the stories, we may also learn obstacles faced by women during negotiation with men counterpart and implementing the policy. Beside the success stories, this blog is also interested to record the "less success" story from women decision maker as basis of reformulating a new strategy and approach.
